Does the Asterix village deserve to be nicknamed the "Crazy Gauls' village"? The fact remains that the unconventional is part of Gaulish life: Getafix, struck by a menhir thrown by Obelix, has lost his mind.

Without the wisest of the druids, free reign is given to Prolix, a charlatan soothsayer and genuine manipulator who sows seeds of trouble among the Gauls. Deprived of magic potions, our indomitable heroes are at the mercy of the Roman legionaries.

Fortunately, Asterix has his eye on things…

What the druids have to say about the film Operation Getafix

Available in DVD and VHS.
Gaumont, a powerful, disorganised monster, which co-produced the two films in 1985/86 with Dargaud, agrees to continue its film adventure with Asterix on the condition that it shares the production. Extrafilm is thus brought in, through the impetus given by its head, a Berlin senator and owner at the time of cinemas in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Extrafilm had made itself a solid reputation through the incredible popularity of Asterix films in the country. While it is not a simple undertaking, the production nonetheless results in the best Asterix cartoon film. From now on, the animation is pretty much on an American level!

A fun film to see again if you haven't already!
An album of the film, adapted from the two adventures Asterix and the Big Fight and Asterix and the Soothsayer is available from Les Editions Albert René.
