Obélix on Atari 2600

Atari - «Obelix» 1984

Back to the basics with the second game inspired by the Asterix Universe, featuring a battle with the Romans! Indeed, this game was named for Obelix, and it was only natural for our hero to strike out with his menhirs while avoiding dangerous projectiles.

If you enjoy bashing Romans as much as Obelix does, this game was made for you. In the centre of the screen, Asterix grapples with five legionaries (One against five! Those poor Romans…).

From a spot at the top of the screen, Obelix flings menhirs at the Romans' heads, enjoying the sport with these brand-new legionaries. Occasionally, Obelix (reluctantly) yields his perch to Getafix, who rushes in and pours a few drops of magic potion onto Asterix. The slyest of the Gauls is thus granted a few seconds of invincibility, which he joyfully takes full advantage of.

The rest of the time, he has to be happy with putting the Romans out of action without totally "destroying" them. If you want to thoroughly enjoy seeing the Romans "destroyed," we suggest you dive back into the albums, which abound in hilarious drawings of Romans with a few bumps on their noggins, to say the least.
