Caesar inadvertently takes part in a bet laid by our unruly Gauls. «Zigackly».

In their own way the authors are showing their fondness of Caesar. He had greatly inspired René Goscinny through his book The Gallic War, and Albert Uderzo had refused to caricature him. Moreover, he said «Caesar really marked history, while his heir, Augustus, gave his name to a clown»! (In French Augustus is 'Auguste', the name given to a type of clown).
